AMP GROUP Diversification | | Even before the Second World War, AMP became involved in extending its activities into other areas beyond distribution of the written press, and opened a "hire purchase" department. The showroom display ranged from stylish furniture to coal stoves! |
| After the war the company was a distributor for Parker writing products. There was also a surge in brokerage sales in the 1960s, especially with the arrival on the market of encyclopedias sold door-to-door. The opening of departments for books, collections and stationery provided newsagents with a complementary sideline. | |
| | From 1984, AMP has been a distributor for Montblanc products (pens, desk accessories, watches, glasses, belts, etc.). This activity ended in 2004. |
| The stationery department, which sold office supplies as well as toys, was sold in 1996. Today, apart from press (individual sales and subscriptions) and books, AMP works in partnership with 3 Suisses (catalogue sales) for small orders, and with PLS (photograph development) through its press distributors. |
